Crafting the Perfect Wedding Day TIMELINE

This is such an exciting time, and I’m here to guide you through one of the most crucial aspects of your day - creating the perfect wedding timeline. Now this can vary from season to season because of lighting, weather, and the general vision of each couple, so I’ve listed some helpful tips and sample timelines below for you to use as a guide!

Questions to Ask Yourself

  1. Sunset Timing: When does the sun bid farewell on your special day? This golden hour is prime time for breathtaking photos.

  2. First Look Decision: Are you considering seeing each other before the ceremony? This can add a deeply personal touch to your day and affect the flow of your timeline. This is mostly for couples getting hitched late fall to winter because it gives me more time while the sun’s out to capture those moments between you two.

  3. Ceremony Flexibility: Does your venue allow for adjustments in your ceremony's start time? This can be crucial for capturing those perfect moments in the ideal light.

  4. Venue Dynamics: If your venue is hosting both the ceremony and reception, it simplifies travel logistics, allowing for a more integrated and fluid timeline. If not, no worries, just make sure to account for travel time in your schedule!

Allocating Time Wisely

Your day's blueprint should include several non-negotiables that, when well-planned, create a seamless flow. It’s okay to get off schedule by a bit - it will probably happen!

  • Details and Getting Ready (1 hour): Estimate for photos only. If you’re anything like me, I want a good couple of hours to take my time with my besties!🥂 I will arrive a bit before this if time allows to borrow your special items (rings, sentimental things, invites, etc.) for detail shots.

  • Getting Dressed (30 minutes): I like to be here for this to get those detail shots of you and whoever is helping you put on your finishing touches!

  • First Look (30 minutes, if applicable)

  • Family Portraits (15 minutes per side)

  • Bridal Party (30 minutes): I will also get group photos after you all get dressed, if time allows.

  • Sunset Portraits (20 minutes): A must-have in your wedding album, in my opinion - if it’s a sunny day!
